Elderberry Syrup Recipe

Elderberry syrup for kids: a natural cold remedy that is PERFECT for the flu. Includes a very basic recipe that is very quick + easy!


  • 1 cup dried organic elderberries
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 1 cup raw honey (or maple syrup)
  • add-ins of choice optional


  1. Add elderberries and water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer for 30-45 minutes.

  2. Add in any of your preferred add-ins

  3. Reduce cooked elderberry to 1-2 cups of liquid. Once it has cooled, drain the warm juice into a separate container.

  4. Next, pour the honey into a large glass bowl. Pour the warm elderberry liquid over the honey and mix well.

  5. Pour the elderberry syrup into a sealable container such as a mason jar and store in the fridge for 1-2 months.
